Science–Policy Interfaces for biodiversity & climate: experiences from Europe, Latin America & Africa

17 November 2025
16:45-18:15
Room: Side Event Room 2

Between November 10 and 21, 2025, COP30 UNFCCC will serve as a valuable platform for biodiversity experts, researchers, and policymakers to share knowledge and enhance global collaboration. In this context, the Horizon Europe projects CO-OP4CBD, BioAgora, and RESPIN will collaborate to highlight the role of the Science-Policy Interface (SPI) in forming effective biodiversity and climate strategies, featuring experiences from Europe, Latin America, and Africa.

The three projects co-organize a side event dedicated to advancing the integration of scientific research into biodiversity and climate governance.

This session will explore synergies and challenges between IPBES and IPCC through RESPIN, an EU-funded project, national experiences, and expert insights, followed by an open discussion on cooperation, knowledge gaps, and ways forward in climate-biodiversity science-policy work.
