RESPIN webinar on Strengthening institutional support for IPCC/IPBES engagement

Join us for the RESPIN webinar titled "Strengthening Institutional Support for IPCC/IPBES Engagement," happening on June 5, 2025, at 3 PM (CET).

Many experts encounter challenges in contributing to the IPCC and IPBES due to limited institutional support, such as insufficient time, funding, or resources. This webinar will focus on how research institutions and knowledge holders can effectively navigate and overcome these barriers.

We will provide practical guidance on securing institutional backing, highlight the benefits of engagement for both institutions and individual researchers, and hear directly from experts who have successfully contributed to IPBES and IPCC with robust institutional support.

The session will begin with a brief introduction to the RESPIN project and the IPBES Technical Support Unit on capacity-building. This will be followed by a dynamic panel discussion where researchers, policymakers, and knowledge brokers will share their experiences in contributing to global environmental assessments, including challenges, lessons, and strategies for institutional support.

Agenda Highlights:

Welcome Remarks – Nastja Elst (BELSPO, RESPIN Function 1)

Introducing RESPIN – Axel Paulsch (Institute for Biodiversity Network, RESPIN Coordination Team)

IPBES Capacity-building Overview – Diem Hong Thi Tran (IPBES Secretariat)
